Nutmeg Pomona No. 16

Nutmeg Pomona last met on Sunday, June 1st. Attendance was disappointing as at the meeting before we conferred the Fifth Degree on 10 candidates. Among the missing was our President Donald Lanoue who was in a very serious accident totaling his truck. As of this writing he is still under doctors care and will be until the middle of July about the same time we receive the next Granger.

June News from Wallingford Grange No. 33

We celebrated Earth Day in collaboration with Lyman Hall (Future Farmers of America) and gave away seeds and plants while also sharing information about how to start and grow one’s own garden and plants. Thank you to Lyman Hall FFA for donating annual plants for us to give away and resources to hand out at this event.

June News from Nutmeg Pomona No. 16

Can’t tell you the outcome of the next Pomona meeting as it is three weeks away but I can tell you what is on the agenda. Election of a Secretary and Flora as both officers found it necessary to resign.

May News from Nutmeg Pomona No. 16

Only meeting four times a year can sometimes make the meeting long as was our March 23rd meeting with Degrees and Inspection. Ted Powell, Overseer of the Connecticut State Grange was present for the Inspection. The officers did a good job during the meeting and the conferral of the Fifth Degree.

May News from Wallingford Grange No. 33

Easter activities were hoppin’ at Wallingford Grange this past month. First, many thanks goes out to Molly, an animal sciences student in Lyman Hall High School’s vo-ag program, and her advisor for helping some young, potential rabbit owners understand how to care for their bunnies, and to the rabbit Paws for being such a good ambassador of the species.

Apr News from Nutmeg Pomona No. 16

I can’t say line up your candidates this month in the Granger because next week will be the Fifth Degree conferral. Harmony Grange was paying attention and has said they have 7 candidates. That sure makes conferring the Degree worthwhile. Hope we have some from other Granges.
