In addition to chess nerds on the first Saturday of each month that starts on January 4th, the Wallingford Grange will also be hosting a monthly guys’ coffee talk from 8am- 10am. The lecturer’s program for the meeting will focus on the topic of emergency winter resources by a guest speaker from CMC Energy Services. At this meeting, we will also discuss upcoming events and goals for 2025. We will also have our monthly country store raffle. All are welcome to attend this meeting.

In conjunction with the January Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, January 11th at 8:30am-11am, the Wallingford Grange will also have a craft workshop available FREE for kids of all ages, crocheting Granny Squares! This is a great opportunity for kids to make one and either give to a relative or keep for themselves if they choose.

Tickets for adults are $6 and for youth 12 and under are $3. A pancake breakfast comes with pancakes and sausage to eat and hot coffee, hot chocolate, tea, or juice to drink. Pancake flavors include Cinnabon (specialty flavor for January), chocolate chip, and buttermilk. Bring friends! Or make friends - the big center table is open to anyone who doesn't want to sit alone. Also, we have a craft workshop available FREE for kids of all ages, on how to crochet a granny square! Same time, same place (more details above).

On Sunday, January 12th at 2pm-3pm, there will be a reiki sound bath meditation class at the Wallingford Grange. This is a great way to start the new year off right with deep relaxation and healing for your mind, body and spirit. Join Toni McGovern, Yoga and Sound Healing Instructor, and Barbara Stainton, RN and Reiki Master, for a transformative journey of wellness. The class is $20 per person. Just in time for Valentine’s Day learn the art of book folding and make this heart design. Perfect for ages 12+. Learn the step by step process of creating a book folded piece of artwork from a pattern. The pattern used for this class will be the heart pictured. All supplies and tools needed for the class are supplied and included in the price. Each participant will create one heart book. Certified Cottage Baker, Amanda Mcquaid will be discussing how to make a sourdough starter and keep it healthy. The lecture will include tips for baking with starter. Limited Sourdough breads and small starter will be available for sale.
